Manufacturing Jobs Go
December 2007
The CBI’s latest Industrial Trends survey estimates 7,000 jobs were lost in the UK manufacturing sector in 2007’s third quarter and predicts another 10,000 will be shed in the fourth quarter. The manufacturing sector will employ 2,938,000 people at the end of 2007. The survey of 529 manufacturing firms found continuing investment in training and retraining over the next year at its highest in almost a decade.
